After collecting a number of Japanese fabrics I chose to draft my own lantern pattern. Finding the right background fabric to complement the fabrics was a challenge. The machine quilting was custom designed expressly for this quilt. The two saw tooth borders were an attempt to use up all the Japanese fabric. This is a stunning quilt that can also be placed with the back side up as the top due to the exquisite quilting. A single narrow mitered red binding completes the composition. 72” X 85 1/2”.
